1966 Imperial tires question/Vogue Tires

You may want to think twice before purchasing Vogue tires. A coworker has them on his Cadillac & it seems like every 6 months, he is getting defective tires replaced. Matter of fact, he just sent it to the Cadillac dealer last week with 2 that are defective. I'd buy a decent set of Goodyear or Michelin before buying something like that. Being limited production & the fact they are sold through Cadillac, you're paying a lot more then they are worth.
That's my .02 anyway,
John

Paul,
you are correct, however the Original equipment tire that the car rode on in
1966 was a bias-ply 9.15 x 15 as I read in the owners manual ( I think ).
Even the 235/75 R15 tire is not as tall from the side profile as the
original bias ply tire.  Vogue tires rep told me that the profile ( side
wall aspect ) between a 75 and a 70 tire is about 5.5mm to 6.0mm.  This
isn't that much of a difference to keep me from buying the tire and will not
lower the car noticeably nor will it adversely affect handling.  I drive
mostly on the city roads and a little on the highway.   As I indicated, I
really don't use the car that much and probably won't buy ANY new tires
until spring 2005. Thanks for all opinions received so far.

Dave Brown
