1823 949 is the production part number for a Torqueflite transmission 
assembly (4 discs) for a Dodge D-500 hi-perf and DeSoto Adventurer.  It is 
listed on a page (# 22-4-1) issued by Chrysler of Canada on April 30, 1959. 
Believe it or not, the heading for the page is "Group 22 - Wheels" and 
"Supplementary Page to Parts List WM-4429", although parts type code is JA 
which is the Torqueflite transmission section.

WM-4429 is the Canadian 1958 parts catalogue printed March, 1959 which 
superceded issues WM-4396 and WM-4406.  The first 1959 catalogue was 
WM-4420.
