[FWDLK] 56 = Dual metal brake drums= or what?

OK whats the deal with the brake drums on my 56 waggin?
They appear to be a laminated construction at least partly?
Sort of a stapled kind of rivet around the circumference?
Steel and Cast?  What?
No info apparently on construction and why in several of my manuals...
Anyone?
