A Mr. Tom Johnson of Pacifica, CA, has a 1956 Plymouth Belvedere 4-door
sedan that he would like to sell. He is not on-line, so I said I'd announce
it on the List.
The car is in good running condition and has a V8-277 with pushbutton
Powerflite. It has the 2-bbl Carter carb. It is two-tone blue over white
with the top-of-the line Type I Sportone trim. The floors are solid and
have original mats. Tom has new carpets, headliner, and windlace for it he
bought from JC Whitney. Colors are blue-turquoise and dark blue. Some
rust-through in the trunk has been repaired with fiberglass and they did a
nice job. I have sixteen 1955-56 Plymouths and I couldn't tell there was a
repair under the mastic coating.
Easy car to put back on the road, do the interior with the parts on hand.
Seats are OK. Car is currently registered in Calif. $3,000 will definitely
buy it. (He's got at least that in it. He's going to focus on his two
Model T's.)
