[FWDLK] Questions.

Hello  list, I have a couple of questions.
1) On my 56 Savoy, The gas guage doesn't work right, it always reads
less than what's in the tank and when the tank is full, It doesn't even
make it to half way.
any idea where to start.

2) Speedometer is broken and I was replacing the cable with a new one.
 I've been having problems. If I insert the cable into the back of the
speedometer, should I be able to spin the cable by hand and see the
speedo move. I can't turn it by hand at all, would that mean the speedo
is frozen ?. Makes for interesting driving with no gas guage and no
speedo. Gotta keep a guestimate of how far I've driven in my head so I
don't run out of gas.

3) I got a squeak in the front end. It only comes when the temp drops
below 55 degrees farenheit. I'm thinking it's the sway bar bushing, but
the rubber bushings seem to be all there.. But it only makes the noise
when the front end dives up and down, like when braking and the nose
dives some. Or driving over a speed bump it sqeaks on the upstroke and
downstroke. It won't do it if I get out and lift up and down on the car
while it's parked. Of course it only happens in the colder weather.
Any ideas what to look at ?
