Right church, wrong pew.  The car that went down with
the Andrea Doria was a Chrysler show car called the
"Norseman", also done by Ghia.  The body looks sorta
like a '57 Imperial w/hideaway headlights, DeSoto
taillights.  The top looks sorta like '60-'62 Chrysler,
DeSoto, or '62-'64 Dodge 880 2-door hardtop except the
C-pillar is much thicker -- the Norseman was built
without A-pillars and the C-pillar had to compensate.

A woman of my acquaintance on the Imperial mailing list
got my attention by saying that a man could prove his
devotion to her by bringing her the Norseman.  Never
having known a woman before who had any idea what it
was, I was needless to say quite impressed.
