I'm sorry, but I have to disagree.  If my mother died and my father married
a 19 year old babe, would that make her my mother?

It would be historically most accurate if each marque was recognized for its
complete and proud independent history at the time that particular car was
produced.  A 1909, 1930 or 1953 Hudson [which were on the earlier museum
list] were Hudsons, not AMC, not Chrysler, just plain Hudson.  Corporate
buyouts are just that, not a justification for revisionist history.
