No benefit actually, it allowed the factory to use cranks and other things that
were not quite perfect. It saves the factory some money, it's just something
that you have to be aware of when you are overhauling a motor. Usually if you
regrind the crank or do any other changes, it won't matter anymore. But if you
are just going to ring and bearing the motor, it allows you to be sure you got
the right parts. It has no effect, either positive or negative, on motor
longevity. More a cost saving measure then anything. It's just something you
have to into account whenever you overhaul a motor with these markings.
