Re: [FWDLK] 58 vs. 59 $$$$

What I find unusual is the huge variance between similar cars of the same
year. A 56 Savoy averaged about $3500 - $4000 but a 56 Dodge Royal Lancer
averages $10,500 - $11,000. The Dodge is clearly better equipped but this is
a lage variation for for two similar vehicles.
Well thats all of my rambling for the day.

Hi all,
        I was comparing a '58 Northeastern Dealers price list with A '59,
and
there is a major price difference between years.
Examples: 1958 Plymouth Belvedere Sport Coupe 8 cyl. base price
$2,935.00 1959 Plymouth Belvedere 2 dr. hdtp. 8 cyl. base
price $2,580.75 1958 Fury 8cyl $3,800.00 vs. 1959 Fury
8 cyl. $2,714.25
and if you compare the '59 Sport Fury $2,927.25 to the '58 Fury
$3,800.00
Is this just a regional discrepancy, or were the prices lowered in '59
for a particular reason?
The same price differences hold true for the accesories...
Air Conditioning '58 $495.00 '59 $445.60 tires '58 750x14 WW $50.00
'59 750x14 $35.35 Transmissions/Torqueflite '58 $240. '59 $226.90
Was it just a better value for the buck in '59 ???
I think if I get time, I will put both price lists on my website for
comparison sake.
Off to do my part to feed the world, and make a buck, John in WI
