Re: [FWDLK] Car Haul Requests

Well, I've made some more calls, and I have to agree with Bill.
The only way to put together a package deal seems to be to look for an
independent guy with a trailer and have him do them all. The trouble with
this is that it would be an open trailer, operating on a shoestring, with
doubtful insurance and/or bonding. I did this once, thinking I was saving a
couple hundred dollars. Delivery took forever, and I played heck tracking
the guy across the country. He always had some excuse, like his gas credit
card was over its limit, and so on.

I think what we should do is if we're planning on moving a car, let the list
know, as there just may be one going the opposite direction that might be
advantageous to a shipper. Or, in the case of self help, one of us might be
going empty one way with our own trailer sometime. I have also heard good
things about Premier, Bill. Also, TNT has been reported to be reputable (I
don't have their number handy at the moment). - Dan in Seattle
