Why 'Mickey Mouse' it ?  You'll be avoiding unnecessary problems
if you just rebuild your starter and generator.

Hello list,
 My 58 Plymouth  Savoy 318 needs a starter. Can I put a newer
style
starter in it's place? How about an alternator to replace the
generator?
I also need a fuel tank pick up, however I may only need a float
and
filter, they apparently got lost over the years.
