[FWDLK] Re. PCV Venting

All,

An engine equipted with a PCV unit still requires a crankcase inlet vent/filter to work. Do not block off the filler/vent. The Polution Control Valve regulates the amount of vacuum being used for various engine use conditions. I could post a section of the MoPar emissions control section that outlines the history and function of the system if requested. Most MoPars from 1963 to about 1967 used a cap that had the PCV unit mounted in it that directly replaces the draft tube. But you still need the filler cap/vent. I have one on my 1958 Golden Commando engine. Direct Connection may sell one.
