[FWDLK] valve cover

Hi all.
I am putting on new valve cover gaskets on my 57 Plymouth Belvedere.
It has the 301 engine in it.
My question is on the right bank there is a tube that runs down the side of
the engine.
Is it possible to eliminate this pipe and put a round breather on it instead
of the pipe.
