Re: [FWDLK] upholstery

For a very specialized small run of material, I can
put you in touch with a weaver in Arizona that can do
some types of weaves.

She is currently in the process of creating 1956
Adventurer and Pace Car cloth for me.

Anyone who knows anything about Adventurers has seen
the less than correct job done by ABC in Philadelphia
last year that was done in conjunction with the
National DeSoto Club. After attempting to match their
"correct" repro. cloth to FOUR different cars, I
elected to go with a small outfit to create the right
stuff for me, since ABC's stuff was a complete joke!

I contacted her the first of the year, sent her a
sample, she took it apart, created a digitized thread
weave layout for me and the initial fabric sample is
on its way as we speak.

She says it matches near perfectly to the sample I
sent her. We shall see.

If all goes well, I should have the completed yardage
in my hand by the end of April.

Cost me about $100.00 a yard for it. She could only
make a small run for me though.

It depends on the complexity of the weave.

There ARE alternatives to SMS out there, you just need
to look.
