MAy be I shouldnt suggest this, but I have a friend
that has an OLD VCR, he has a rubber coated gear/pully
that is NOt replaceable in it. His method of restoring
usability to his VCR is to microwave the item for a miniute
or so, the treatment usually lasts him 6-12 months.
