Try looking at www.coker.com. They have a good period chart for the different sizes of whitewalls, if you aren't sure about what size you need. I would strongl;y recommend going with the wide whites instead of a modern tire - the difference in appearance is really remarkable. Although they tend to be more expensive, I would also recommend the correct bias-ply (non-radial) tires. They have a different, taller profile. Modern radials will look a little wrong, even with the wide whitewalls that are available. I have a 1959 Dodge Coronet, and the difference I saw between modern radials and bias-ply was amazing. Performance isn't really an issue - but I imagine the bias-play will not last as long. Of course, these cars usually aren't daily drivers, either, and few of us put 15K miles a year on our Forward look cars. Some cost savings tips - If your car is not for show, check out Blemished tires. There is never a structural problems, and most of the blemishes are invisible to the average person. Also, check out your area for major car shows and find out when the tire manufacturers will have displays set up. Often, they will bring ordered tires to a show and save you the shipping. And they also have a good selection, so you can buy direct. If you can't make it to the show, check around with your car club friends - I had tires picked up at Hershey by a friend who went there.
