On the 361, the stamp is on a flat "shelf" near the base of the distributor. It will read "36". There also is a letter of the alphabet corresponding to year of manufacture, but I forget how it goes..hopefully someone else will send you the complete answer.

Hello List Members,
I need your expertise on the 318s and 361s in the 59 Plymmys.

Where exactly are the engine numbers stamped??
Is there a style or prefix to the numbers that would identify it to a the 59 body style?

EXAMPLE: a 57 Fury 318 would be stamped   'FP31'
                 a 58 350 would be stamped 'L350'  or 'FLP350' if put in a FURY.

Thank You    ED     L.I. N.Y.
