Yes and rain it did in Olean, NY for the Great Race that came thru there a
couple of years ago. I had my 55 Plymouth there and it rained a little on
the way down. I got parked and dried it off. About 15 minutes later a good
rain came again and every one took cover. After the 10 minutes I dried it
off again just to have it rain the 3rd time a little later. I took out my
towels and dried it off again and my friend who owned a 56 Continental came
over and politely if I dried it off again he would take my towel away from
me. Well it didn't rain again that night. It was a short time till the
first of the Great Racers were to go thru the Arch that was erected in the
middle of down town Olean and one person came up to me and asked if that was
my car. I said it was and she told me to come with her to the Chamber of
Commerce building just across the street where she awarded me a wooden
plaque and I was told that 3 of us who had cars there were chosen to drive
thru the arch before the Racers came thru. What a thrill to say the least
and I had my friend (who wanted to take my towels) snap pictures of my wife
and I going thru the Great Race Arch.
So take some towels and dry them off--convertibles are much harder tho when
the tops are down.
