Re: [FWDLK] Parts-is-Parts

Why just spare parts? There are other things one needs too...

Personally, I carry spare belts, hoses, handtools-all basic stuff, a spare
module for my electronic ignition (it likes to go), fluids-brake fluid, oil,
antifreeze (enough to FILL it-two gallons, premixed) transmission/power
steering fluid, windshield washer fluid, a spare tire, some fix-a-flat, road
flares, miscellaneous pieces of wire-some to use for wiring and some to
tie things up, silicone, electrical tape, an empty gas container, jumper
cables, a jack, a piece of wood (ever get stuck in the soft shoulder?), a
tow rope, spare bulbs and an extra headlight, a flashlight, a tire pump,
fifty bucks (you never know, and some places don't take credit), a few rags
and I'm thinking about getting a prepaid cell phone and charger to leave in
the back. Also one of those little rechargeable things that you can jump
your car with-I like those.

It sounds like an awful lot of stuff, but I fit most of it in a single
milk crate, except for some of the fluids and the tools, and of course,
the spare tire (duh). But I suppose a lot of it has to do with how often
you drive your car, and how far. When its actually ON the road, I use it
like anything else, so I'm frequently nowhere near home, or places where
parts are available.

How about everyone else?
