Re: [FWDLK] 59 NYer "Red Lion"???

There was no such thing as a "Red Lion" option or package in 1959. And
there definitely was not a T-top option, factory or otherwise, in 1959.
Factory-offered T-tops came into vogue in North America in the 1970's, not
the 1950's.

Chrysler did have a "Golden Lion", though. That is what they called the
engine.

About 5 years ago when I was living in northern Calif a saw a 2-door hardtop
Red Lion with a T-Top roof! It looked factory, other wise is was a very
professional job. Lots of chrome trim. I always thought it was a custom job.
Has anyone ever seen it? Were T-tops available? The car was Burgandy and
white as I recall. I saw in in Pacifica, CA just south of SF.

Can't say I've ever hear of a rare Red Lion edition New Yorker before.
Is there such a thing, or is this just a Plain old NYer with the trim
removed?
If nothing else, it showed up at just the right time to settle the
discussion on how my in-progress mild custom Saratoga would look nosed,
decked, and shaved.
