This gent is in luck. I currently have the gas tank pulled from my 57
DeSoto. There is an O-ring seal at the filler neck opening on the gas tank.
I'm at work but I will take some digital pictures tonight and email them to
the list and to the other fella. I pulled my tank because the fuel guage
sending unit wasn't working and at the same time I've purchased the gas
tank sealer kit from Eastwood to stop the rust in it and as a preventive
maintenance measure. I'll post first thing tomorrow morning around 7ish.
