I've heard several numbers mentioned. A article a few weeks ago about
the Volo Auto Museum said this:

"For the actual filming of 'Christine,' 14 Plymouth Furies were
invoiced.
They were burned, crushed, crashed and smashed. Only one actually
survived the filming: this one at the museum."

I also seem to remember something about a few promotional cars being
built by the studio that were not actually used in the movie.
Even if this is the "one surviving Christine" from the movie, it still
seems like way too much money.
