Re: [FWDLK] eBay.... should implement a better auction end.

Now this is a good idea, Joe!

I agree with you all, that everybody should know how to use the max bid
option. I always do. And I always place my bid at the end, the last 10 secs
if possible! Sometimes that's hard, at the other side of the big-one..., get
up in the middle of the night, get all that adrenaline flowing and hardly
can't get to sleep anymore...
Using this tactic, I sometimes loose. Just by being a sec too late. But
that's a risk I take myself.
Sometimes sellers act sore. They even sometimes charge extra shipping costs.
But that's why I always inform for shipping and handling prior to bidding.

Back to your idea, Joe: Many times, we are not the only ones waiting for the
end of an auction. If everyone knows how to handle their max bid, it would
be fair and in the sellers interest to keep the auction open i.e. 1 minute
after the last bid. Again: very good idea!
So, who's gonna whisper this to eBay?

Anyway, I like to see my name on the list once in a while!

If Ebay would change their auction end policy, it would negate the last
minute bidding. One of the other services extends the auction x amount of
time if there is a last minute bid. This takes away most of the advantage
bidding at the last second. This might get everyone bidding when they want,
knowing there will be fewer people waiting until the last second.

They could even make it optional for the seller. Some people selling a lot
of stuff may just want it all to end together so they can manager their
auctions, others might like to let them extend.

Ebay is a TIMED bidding event, NOT an auction, where final "fair value,
last call" is observed, before the bidding is closed.
