Yeah, should be no physical problems with the exchange.

As you probably know, the only reason the electronics are different are due to the 6V '55 vs. the
12V '56.  I'm running my original rebuilt '55 engine with '56 generator, starter and a few other
changes I deemed necessary for the 6-to-12 conversion.  I did not change the distributor, but I
changed the condenser, and coil, and added a ballast resistor.  I also had to change the temp. gauge
sending unit.
