Your friend is correct.  The 1957 DeSoto Firesweep used Dodge's poly version
of the 325.

The 1957 Firedome and Fireflite used the 341 hemi and the Adventurer used a
345 hemi.   These were the last DeSotos to use a hemi, while the Firesweep
was the only DeSoto to used a poly.
