I realise I have passed the date of usefulness, having now spent 9 years on
a restoration/rebuild of a 59 Plymouth.
 Regardless, I DO recall bits and pieces of the re-install process of the
windshield. I was told to find a certain sealant...used only for gasketed
glass..I found a retired fellow who gave me a tube of this sealant...
i could be wrong about this, but it seems I caulked the metal flange, then
fit the rubber gasket to it, then installed the glass with the really neat
zipper fit. I have not had an opportunity to test it for leaks, so I may
have failed at one or more turns, but that is how it went for me... Is it
possible you can find an old-time company or person who has experience with
these gasket-glass installations...?
