I'm not saying I'm against dues, but 13 pages of
members includes most of the names repeated many times, as each
car is listed, not simply each member.

This sounds like a very worthwhile idea to me. I'd be
happy to chip in on this project. I've enjoyed and benefited from
the membership a whole lot!
