Thanks for the many suggestions for dealing with my oil pan, most of which
were along the lines of welding a patch...

Alas, I'm afraid the pan is actually *rusted*, not a good candidate for
welding.  It does not bode well for the condition of the motor, but I'm not
surprised, given the amount of sludge I cleaned from the heads.
Condensation (and consequent sludge buildup) is common, I hear, for motors
that are often run for short durations.

Still, the motor runs strong.  It's the leak that's bugging me! 8^)

So I'm looking for a new pan.  Spent quite a bit of time looking for one,
but I've not found one yet... Plenty of pans for 318 "LA" blocks, but none
that I can find for the older, "A" block.  (The sump is more central on my
pan.)

Does anyone have a part number?  An interchangeable part?  I'd like to get
new or NOS, but I guess I'll settle for used in good condition...
