Being an American-built car, it would be interpreted the American way -
MMDD.  Thus, "0512" would be May 12 (1958).

The SO number on the tag is supposedly the scheduled build date for the car.
So 0512 should be May 12th 1958 or December 5th 1957, but I don't remember
which one.

Dave, here are the three digit numbers that I can read.
293, 327,345, 441,466, 260(I think?, but it's hard to read) and the one
right after 466 ends with 01 but the top number is missing (possibly a 5 or
6?)
How could I find out the date the car was manufactured?
