Re: [FWDLK] Back-up Light Switch

Bob,
The back up lite switch is on the right side of the Powerflite transmission and Part Number is 1603328.  It is not the same as the brake lite switch.  It has a ball on the bottom of it and I think a cam or some linkage inside the transmision pushes the ball and activates the switch.  I'd try taking it out and checking it out.  And it has 2 female screw terminals on it and I have a NOS one on my desk as I type.  If interested email me privately.

Subject: [FWDLK] Back-up Light Switch

The back-up light switch apparently has gone south on my 55 Plymouth (with Powerflite).  The lights go on as soon as the ignition is turned on and stay on regardless of the position of the gear selector.  The switch is mounted on the transmission according to the shop manual and appears to be hydraulic like the brake light switch.  Questions:  Is it the same as the brake light switch?  Does anyone have a part number?  Any suggestions where I might get a replacement?     Bob Levanduski    55 Plymouth Belvedere    Delaware,  OH
