[FWDLK] FW: [FWDLK] Ugly is in the eye...

Was that the Mercury Monarch (sister of the Granada) or the Lincoln
Versailles? As I recall, Lincoln was first to come out with the severely
overpriced mid-size car; Cadillac was second with the Cimarron. Of course,
by this time, our own Chrysler Corporation had abandoned luxury cars
altogether with the elimination of the Imperial Le Baron. The best that
they could hope for is mid-luxury competing against Buicks and Mercurys.
Argh!

My vote for American ugly goes to the AMC Matador of the mid 70s- ick. But
no match for certain Datsuns of the same era. Or how 'bout the Mercury
Monarch of the late 70s with that flourescent tan vinyl roof/opera
windows/cheesy grille and hood ornament deal ala Lee Iacocca Italianesque
rolling livingroom situation? CB Rollins South Amherst Massachusetts
