[FWDLK] FAN-O-MATIC in a ROLLING DONUT!

So, there I was, reading my 3/58 Motor Trend, & 4/58 Speed Age (re: 58
D500's), drinking strong coffee, when "it" hit me: since my P225/75 R14
tires look like mere donuts (or are they bagels?),"lost", inside the
wheelwells,
why don't I install FIFTEEN inch radial tires (with 15" rims) ; but
what SIZE should I get, & who sells them (Coker--any OTHERS?) --Cokers
are kinda pricey, & reports on their quality are kinda "iffey"--tread
separation comes to-mind, & Horrie likes to be driven.

The next thing that befell my eyes was, of all things, a product-review
on Fan-O-Matic (M.T.; pg. 78) . WAY back, in the 50's, there was @ least
this-one product, that allowed the(ir) fan-bade to stop spinning, @ an
"adjustable"
mph, but, 'normally' @ around 40mph.

The 'factory' claims, Re: increased accelleration
and/or horsepower were found to be somewhat
debateable/insignificant (due to the speed-at-point-of-cutout), but
(did i say: BUT) ,
M.T. recorded INCREASED M.P.G. from an average of 13.5 , to 15.9 (!!!) ,
as installed on a 56 Dodge Coro (engine/trans/rear-end: not disclosed)
The former mpg was recorded over
392 "normal traffic & freeway conditions", using the O.E.M. fan blade.
Then, the Fan-O-Matic
(gotta LOVE that name!) was installed, the car driven another 416
miles, and the latter 'readings' were documented.

The review did say that :"an adapter kit was required (to mount onto the
56 Dodge), and...
it is recommended that the installation not be attempted by anyone
without adequate tools & experience".

Anybody know if JC Whitney, or anybody-else, sells these things!!!??

Happy T-Day!

Vedder, CA
