Oh, you kids!
Sleepy Eyes are Metal half disc' which cover the top half of the headlights.
Didn't really cut down the beam much, just concentrated it in a lower beam.
They actually were good for the oncoming traffic. You could also get
"Shades" which were little brows which went under the headlight retainer and
shadded the headlight. they stuck out  and some of them had a jewel in them
which lit up from the headlight. All of these are probably still in the J C
Whitney catalog.
Unfortunatly, this stuff goes back about 50 years..........
