Re: [FWDLK] That's the Brakes...

Brian,
The cheapest way would be to score a wrecking yard 8 3/4 " axle from a later Dodge or Plymouth car.I used a '69 B-body unit in my '57 Fury, it needed the spring mounts moved about 3/4" per side but was otherwise a bolt in swap. Just take your tape measure with you to measure the overall width and be sure to measure the rear yoke(there are two different u-joint sizes), any competent welding shop can move the spring mounting pads if necessary.

Hi Folks,
I know this is probably a stupid question, but I need to ask anyway; My 58 Plaza originaly had a parking brake on the tailshaft of the tranny. Before I got the car,the engine and trans. were swapped out with a newer vintage set.Now.there is no brake on the new trans. and now way to run to the rear wheels since they never had a way to hook up a parking brake originally.Any suggestions?I'm kinda' dumbfounded here.
