[FWDLK] Totally Tubular

For the young'ens on the List, back in the
Dark Ages, cars had wire wheels (for lightness, brake-cooling, & just
plain cool-ing effects).

Problem was (is) , air escaped thru the spoke holes, so inner tubes were
developed, to retain air pressure. But, the tubes tended to promote
wheel imbalance, heat build-up, and the spokes themselves, could abrade
the tubes, and develop "blow-outs" if the tube were catastrophically
punctured.

Old-time cars had to carry spare tires AND
tubes. Most outings included at least one stoppage for "flat" repair.

Now, go to bed, and be quiet.
