[FWDLK] A Chrome question for a '59 Dodge

I am interested in re-chroming the shoulder chrome pieces from my Custom
Royal. These are found right behind the doors and have the Custom Royal
script attached to them. But I am not sure the way to go with this. I had
assumed that the Custom Royal script was attached via speed nuts or some
other such thing but they are actually welded/soldered etc. into place.
Drilling them out is not the problem, re-attaching them is what has me
worried. I was not real keen on fooling with the script to begin with. I
suspect it is as fragile as it looks, but to not chrome the pieces would
standout quite a bit considering everything else I am doing to the car.

I am curious what others done in this situation? Any recommendations?
