[FWDLK] carburator ID

Hi all!

I just bought a Carter 2bbl carb on e-bay. It was rebuilt by Chrysler,
apparently several years ago. I need to replace the bowl gasket; I can see
light through it. I also need a mounting gasket. Here's the problem - the
ID number on the tag is a rebuild number, not a factory number. I called
Kantor parts and the person I talked with said the number I need should be
stamped on the bottom of the carb, but it wasn't. Again, the only stamp
there was a "rebuilt" stamp with a number that meant nothing. I read all
the numbers that I could find to him, and none of them were what he needed
to make an ID. I guess I could remove the bowl gasket and trace it, as well
as the bottom of the carb, but then where would I go to get them identified?
Has anyone else run into this problem? What did you do? Any thoughts are
appreciated.
