Re: [FWDLK] auction fever

I'm not quite sure how this qualifies as shill bidding?

You have one guy that's just starting out that was high bidder, and was outbid by another guy that has quite a bit of experience.  New guy comes along and gets the high bid again, only to have the experienced guy come along and enter a bid that he hopes is high enough to outlast the new guy.

New guy comes back, and tries to find a bid that is just high enough to become the high bidder again, and bids in small increments.   Maybe 25?  nope.  maybe 29.95? nope.  Maybe 32?  nope.  Since he really wants it, the next thing you know he's bid the thing up to 102.50 in small increments.  Now, he doesn't want anybody else to come along and outbid him again, so he's added another high bid after his last one that put him on the top as a cushion.

I don't know either of the bidders, but that's how I see the bidding.  Maybe I need a better idea of shill bidding?

A classic example of shill bidding. Take a look at the bid history.
