Re: [FWDLK] Part Number Question

The number on the part may not be the parts department number, but a casting
number. You cannot tell by the number as to which year it is, though. I
suspect #1158 352 is from before 1951 as #1142 878 was for a 1949 Plymouth
hubcap. 1951 hubcaps and wheelcovers had part numbers 132x xxx.

The farthest back I go with hood hornaments is 1953, #1456 363 for Plymouth,
#1373 213-4 for Dodge (2-piece due to the wide curly horns), #1456 892 for
DeSoto, and #1456 679 for Chrysler.

I don,t have a parts book that goes back that far but the number indicates
1951. If it looks like a ship its Plymouth, A Rams head = Dodge, Hernando,s
head = Desoto (some even lit up!). Any thing else would be Chrysler I guess.
Hope this helps. Dick W.

Can anyone tell me what a part number is for? This seems to be a hood
ornament for an old mopar. 7157-A or 1158352 both are on the
part.Thanks
