[FWDLK] 6 V generator for 1955 dodge plymouth chrysler desoto

Here is a 6 Volt generator. This looks like it was a rebuilt replacement just before the car was parked. I am going to start it as a auction later tonight with a starting price of 19.99 or 24.99. Look at my other auctions for 55 desoto parts

There are two of these on Ebay ? one double and one single pulley.  What I am wondering though is how can a 12V generator be a NOS for a 1955.  Was there an end of year switch over to 12V by the factory?  Anyone done a switch to 12 V?

I am thinking changes would be

Lights
Electric motors
Gauges

Sounds expensive.

TIA

Tom
