[FWDLK] Oil or air cooled?

Hi all!  I've got a question and I know this is the best place to ask. My 58 Belvedere has a oil cooled cast iron Torqueflite. All of my manuals only show a air cooled trans. in 58. What year did they swich from air cooled to oil cooled? I was hoping this is the correct trans. in my car. If it isn't, I know where I can purchase an air cooled trans. from a 58 Suburban.
