I look closer and the guy gives a D500 serial number for the motor, but says
he kept the heads and intake to put on his convertible.
Isn't a '57 D500 a pretty rare motor? The Krause book claims around 500
produced.
Then again, reading some of this guy's responses he sounds like a real
clown, to be as nice as I can. In one response he'll take $5000 for it
whole, then the next one he won't. He sure doesn't seem to know what he has
there or look very hard for parts. Taking the locks? A locksmith can make
new keys for $30.
If it were closer I'd see if I could swap a couple 2-door parts rustbuckets
for it though, even without the pieces he wants it would make a nice driver
pretty fast.

Look at this item 4607476591 this must be this guys brother in law.
But when we see something odd or overpriced on eBay remember that what may
seem overpriced to you or me may be a deal for another.
I am always amazed at what sells on eBay and for how much!
Some one thinks it is worth the $44+ as he dose have a bid from someone who
has been around...

Methinks someone's been watching too much of the Barrett-Jackson auction
coverage.
Book for #1 comdition in my June 05 Old Cars Price Guide is half the open
bid and that's usually overpriced.
I like how someone asked which engine is in it and the seller answered
"stock" ... okay but which one? 326? 361? 383 D-500??
I'm sure it's a nice car, but this listing's just going to generate a lot
of
nasty comments from the looks of it. What a terrible listing, a 2-line
description and one photo - I have spent an hour writing up and posted 20+
photographs for $500 POS parts cars and not gotten sales.
Then again the guy just signed up to eBay, so he has no idea what's going
on
or what he's in for yet I'm sure.
