Re: [FWDLK] Garage floor paint

I have found that putting a carpet or rag on the bench when taking something apart will keep the little screws from going all over the floor and for some reason these small parts evaporate or go 50 feet from where you are working if they fall on the floor.  They will land on the carpet and not bounce as much and most of the time stay on the bench where you want them.
Also if your wife decides to toss out the old mixer, keep the mixer beaters for mixing paint with a drill or mixing anything else.
One more, when your wife throws out the cupcake pans, or bread pans, keep these also as they make really nice parts bins.  Especially the cupcake tins.  You can organize the screws and parts when taking apart some of the parts on your car.

Actually, I?ve been advised of the opposite.  It is a bad idea to have carpet underneath the car, as it soaks up oil and other fluids, and acts as a convenient wick to set your car on fire with the slightest spark.  There are several carpet-like, felt-type pads which absorb the oil, keep down the moisture, and are fire resistant.  Griot?s Garage sells them I believe.  My in-laws use them under their cars.  They weren?t ver y expensive if I recall.

You may not want to carpet the whole garage, but its not a bad idea to have a piece of old carpet under your Forward Look vehicle(s). It will trap humidity sweating from the concrete on the concrete instead of allowing it to circulate (and potentially decay) the underside of the car.

Subject: [FWDLK] Garage floor paint

I painted my car port floor and used the premium paint made for concrete floors as sold by ACE hardware.  The key is making sure the floor is clean and free of grease. In my case I own a pressure washer and gave it a real good cleaning before applying the paint.  I read recently where a lady had her garage carpeted and said it kept down the dust and dirt and she could go out to the garage barefoot.
