I highly reccommend this trip to any auto enthusiast. While at the Kruse museum I noticed a piece of forward look hiding on a street rod. The collection is mostly creations by Carl Casper. Famous for his hollywood cars, dragsters and wild one off fiberglass rods. This particular car is called the Ultra Rod. It features a 426 Hemi mounted in the rear-facing backwards. It is front wheel drive. Everything looks totally custom, until I noticed the speedo and instrument cluster from a 61 Plymouth! It was a perfect fit. I see why he chose that dash. I saw everything from the Studebaker Carraige President Lincoln rode in to the Ford's Theater to the many German, Czech, Russian and American vehicles used to wage the Great War. Sadly, only one F.L. car. A beautiful 59 Imperial. But, Virgil's design is what inspired me to tell my story to the list members. Has anyone else heard of this project??Uniting father and son in a joint effort-too bad it didn't get off the ground.
