With that "-1" after it leadss me to suspect you may be looking at a casting
number.  What you  need to find is a number that is stamped into the
tranmission case and not raised.  It is usually on the left side just above
the oil pan.

Can anyone tell if what this transmission number is 1738413-1
it is in a 57 Belvedere I am hopping it is a 3 speed torqueflite.. I have
not seen it yet so all I have is the number the fellow gave me.
