[FWDLK] Tranny Fluid for 1955 Dodge Powerflite

I have been looking around for Type A and I guess it is no longer made.  I called a major tranny shop and they do not go back that far and NAPA has only the current stuff.

 

What is an acceptable solution?  I have no idea what is in the tranny now.   It shifts just fine but does have a little leak in the front seal.  If the answer is Dextron, do I have to do a total purge because of any incompatibilities?  Thanks.
