Re: [FWDLK] Being Gary Goers.......

Well, some people are lucky...

Just about all of the orders have arrived in great time.

Me too, but there are horror stories from others

He's always been fair

Agree 100%

I've never, ever had a problem with the parts he's sent me.

I have, no reply from Goers, but it was several years ago so he may have improved.

A guy is allowed to have a private life

But a business is a business.

Maybe someone close to him should write  and ask HIM if he really deleted all his e-mail orders so he would be caught up...

I have to agree with Neil.  I have always received the orders I've given Gary.  Just about all of the orders have arrived in great time.  He's always been fair and I've never, ever had a problem with the parts he's sent me.  A guy is allowed to have a private life, even though he's instrumental in getting our cars finished.

Subject: [FWDLK] Being Gary Goers.......

I pm'ed Roger Van Hoy, yesterday, but, I'll say it publicly, now, and
this is only from my past
post-1983 experience from knowing Gary and ordering beaucoup parts for
my car, since then, from him, AND as being a sole proprietor, myself:

Gary, for the past few years has had one employee/assistant.

It's not Gary's 'fault' that no one else reproduces as many essential
'soft' parts, for our cars, as he does.

Despite public-outcry, Gary apparently insists on having a private life;
he DID get married a few years ago (you might recall the uproar over his
having absented himself from "our" business, while he enjoyed his
honeymoon ).

Gary's business model, for the past decade, or 2, has been to receive a
fax-order (the receipt of which he might not have acknowledged; hey, I'm
only describing, not defending his business).

He also has been decried for taking a "long" time to complete an order,
but, to my knowledge, no one has ever claimed to have been defrauded by
him.

Altho I've never made a multi-$ k oder from him, I have received my
orders along WITH an invoice--you better BELIEVE that the bill gets
paid, quickly.

Some people have become upset because they have included their payment,
with their order. This complaint I can understand.

I have received sub-standard quality molded-rubber pieces from him
(notably a driver's foot-pad, and also a brake pedal .)

Gary has either refunded my money, or given me return-credit , when I
have been dissatisfied with his products.

I am not a member (or fan!) of either 300-club, but Gary is, it's where
he got his "start", & he attends one or both of their 'meets', including
the Barrett Jackson meet, each JAN.

So, as you can read, I'm not Gary's PR Department, but I AM very happy
that his business exists, and realize that he just does not have TIME
to correspond, or 'chat' @-length, with his customers.

(Given, that there's only so-many work hours in a day, and that he's
"always" back-logged, I'd rather have Gary be attending to finishing MY
project, than talking with "you" , AND, I'm sure: vice-versa!!!! )
