Re: [FWDLK] cracked head?

NO, Bryan, don't panic! In one of the crazier ideas DeSoto had, the exhaust manifold bolts thread right into the water jacket in the block. Everything is fine. Just use lots of good pipe dope on the bolt when you run it back in!

Hi all,

Today I removed the left side exhaust manifold on my 361 V-8, and when I removed the bolt in the very rear (closest to the firewall) coolant dripped out. I lost enough to create a puddle on the floor that was about 16" in diameter. This can't be good. I'm guessing I have a blown gasket, or worse, a cracked head?
