[FWDLK] weird oil leak

My '56 Desoto wagon has a weird oil leak.   Oil leaks out of the oil 
filter area only when the car is cold.   After warm up the oil leak 
stops.   Also, the oil filter base has been changed to accommodate a 
regular spin-on oil filter instead of the stock canister type.    The 
oil leaks with a consistent drip for about a minute or two and then 
stops.    Once the car is warm it never leaks a drop.    Also, the car 
runs very well but does have a lot of blow-by which is hosed off from 
the oil cap to the air cleaner of the carb.   Any thoughts?   thanks
