Re: [FWDLK] overdrive idea for aluminum torqueflight

The small block pattern 727 is what all the adapters use for installing a
727 behind an early Hemi/Poly engine. With an adapter, you could put an
overdrive trans behind a Chrysler, DeSoto, or Dodge Hemi/Poly, or 318. This
supplier can modify a 518 trans (727/OD) to take up to 800 horsepower. That
should stand up fine to any stock 392 Chrysler 300 or 318 Fury.

Might be possible with an J.W. Ultrabell bell housing. Don't know
how the 518 and lock-up converter would stand up to a stock HP engine
or one that has been hopped up a little. Might have to invest some
money in beefing up the tranny and converter.
